Chronicles

That year, the festival was preceded by the traditional casting in „Akant” club and the final show was in „Spodek”.

On the main stage there were 20 artists, among them: Tadeusz Nalepa & Dżem (later the stuff from this very good concert was published), Irek Dudek Big Blues Band, Dżem, Martyna Jakubowicz, ad hoc created  blues – funky combo called The Cherlocks (with well-known Silesian musicians in line – up, such as: Apostolis Anthymos, Jerzy Piotrowski, Andrzej Urny, Ziut Gralak, Krzysztof Głuch, Rafał Rękosiewicz, Janusz Hryniewicz, Adam Rusek and Jorgos Skolias). Fans also appreciated solo acts of Jan „Izba” Izbiński and Stanisław Sojka, both appeared for the first time at „Rawa Blues”.

As the press wrote: Rawa Blues attracts not only the thousands of blues fans from the  furthest places in Poland, but also the artists, who are the biggest ones. Everyone who wants to sit on Polish blues top must take part in this celebration.

But the stagnation was pointed too: „The best thing is that Rawa Blues is still alive” – conclued one of the journalists.

Of course, we had to remember about the late communist Polish reality, where any plans of changing the formula of Rawa Blues were – due to economical, media and few other reasons – hardly impossible to introduce.

Anyway: Rawa Blues was still a very important event for the fans who need the natural contact with live music.
