Chronicles
The contest part of Rawa Blues was won by Formacja Fru. Just before the opening ceremony on The Main Stage, ex- Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek appeared in „Spodek”. In short conversation he congratulated to Irek Dudek and showed his real admiration for his achievements as the „Rawa Blues” director.
And then became time for the music: Mietek Blues Band, Banaszak & The Best, Paweł Szymański, Sławek Wierzcholski & Nocna Zmiana Bluesa, Easy Rider, Tadeusz Nalepa and Irek Dudek with the female string orchestra and the male brass section.
The great and exciting harmonica show gave British musician Paul Lamb with his band The Kingsnakes. They proved, that there was still a lot do with this traditional blues instrument.
One of the most exciting moments was the meeting with the living blues legend – Lonnie Brooks, who played first time in Poland. The festival was summarized by the extremely long „Sweet Home Chicago” jam, with Irek Dudek, Paul Lamb and the musicians of other Rawa Blues stars.
Definitely: that night a lot of participants of Rawa toasted for the future of the festival!
