The success of the first edition of Rawa Blues Festival – which had a great response in the Polish blues audience – encouraged the founder to spread the wings and include more Silesian cities to the event.
First, there was organized the two - days contest for amateurs in „Akant” music club. Some of the concerts took place in Katowice, Chorzów and Gliwice. The largest shows were held in the arenas in Katowice, Sosnowiec – Zagórze, Jastrzębie Zdrój, Chrzanów and Dąbrowa Górnicza. The were also a few jam sessions. The line up of the second edititon contained the cream of Polish blues: Tadeusz Nalepa, Irek Dudek, Elżbieta Mielczarek, Józef Skrzek, Jan „Kyks” Skrzek, Martyna Jakubowicz, Kasa Chorych, Jacek Skubikowski, Jan Janowski and Krzak.
The Festival also included the lectures about the blues and the festival of movies, connected with music, where a lot of unique documentaries about American jazz, blues and folk music were shown to the Polish spectators.
Highlights from the Rawa Blues were on air of Polish television helped to promote the Festival and more people in Poland became aware of existing such a great and important blues celebration.
