Chronicles

The main star of 13th  edition was Luther Allison. Irek Dudek hoped, that the fame of this American blues guitarist would attract more fans than before. But the audience was a bit smaller in „Spodek”.

The warm – up before Rawa Blues gathered 51 artists, the jury chose the participants of the final concert. The winners of The Off Stage in „Spodek” became two bands:  Night Come and Pivo.

The Main Stage belonged to: Bluesdorf Orchestra, Monkey Business and the special projects prepared for the Festival: Wielka Łódź with Lora Szafran, Easy Rider with Paweł Ostafil and the American harmonica player Paul Rimple and Essential Music Duo (Robert Gola and Roland Oumar). The audience witnessed the debut of Leszek Cichoński Workshop. For the last time, their skills showed at Rawa Maciej Maleńczuk, Dżem with Ryszard Riedel as the vocalist and Tadeusz Nalepa.

We could listen to Lamar Chase again, this time as the leader of the band accompanied Curtis Knight, the vocalist known for his connections with early Jimi Hendrix performances.

Irek Dudek proudly presented his Symphonic Blues, the orchestra with rhythm section and solo artists. This show was really appreciated by the spectators with loud and long applause.

The main hero, Luther Allison played the show as the good bluesman should do. We had opportunity to see the professional show with great vocal and instrumental skills of the classical Chicago bluesman. It was one of the most important blues events in Poland so far...
