It’s hard to imagine a Rawa Blues Festival without a concert from its creator and director. This year Irek Dudek will once again present his big band incarnation. Fans can expect the solid collection of tunes from „No. 1” album and the bunch of special guests.

The big band formula has accompanied Irek Dudek since the early eighties. During the second edition of Rawa Blues Festiva, he played with the Dudek Blues Band and in 1983 he founded the Ireneusz Dudek Blues Session, which combines well-known names of Polish blues and jazz society. Two years later, he introduced Big Band Boogie to the audience of Rawa Blues.

Music critics wrote of the „great blues show”, „export spectacle” and „The touch of the western world” that Dudek brought to the Polish stages. The crowning achievement of this time in the career of this Silesian bluesman career was the longplay CD “No. 1” released in 1986.

1At this year’s Rawa Blues, Irek Dudek presents a comprehensive repertoire from his career with outstanding Silesian musicians: the violin virtuoso Henryk Gembalski, the flute wizard Krzysztof Popek and the SBB guitarist Antymos Apostolis.
