Highlights after 40th Rawa Blues Festival

2022-10-12

Jubilee, edition 40 of Rawa Blues Festival is over. We thank all our publicity, all media partners and fans. Below, we present selected press quotes about past edition.

Katowice is Polish blues capitol of all times

Nearly 5 thousand fans purchased tickets to 40th edition of Rawa Blues Festival, to listen to the concerts of domestic artists including Irek Dudek and his Big Band or Sławek Wierzcholski and Nocna Zmiana Bluesa, and also a strong set of foreign stars. This gremium included Macy Gray, Chris Cain, Mike Zito, Kris Barras Band.

Macy Gray

The vocalist snatched the audience to dance, clapping and having fun together, and fans were super enthusiastic about that. That's the star the Rawa Blues stage needed!

Kris Barras Band

This was not a melancholic blues, for the end of the event, it did not lull the fans to sleep, it was a powerful, rock play, almost a hard rock. The band presented i.a. "My Parade", the song that led AntyRadio FM broadcast in weeks before the Rawa Blues Festival, which led fans into a real euforia - because it is not a common thing to see pogo on such kind of the festival.

As the old quote from Willie Dixon says: "Blues are the roots, the rest are the fruits". Bravo to the organizers for not limiting the frames to just strict blues, and for presenting real stars from the surrounding musical genres. Let that be continued, and the festival will be good!

Invitation to the next year

Jan Chojnacki and festival director Irek Dudek invited the fans to the next, 41st edition of Rawa Blues. It's been announced to happen on October 7th, 2023, in Spodek Katowice.
