Kris Barras Band

Five years ago, his energetic concert was a real sensation at the Rawa Blues Festival. Back then, Kris Barras broke the hegemony of American performers at the festival. On October the 8th, this charismatic British guitarist and vocalist will once again play in Katowice's "Spodek" during the 40th edition of the event.

Barras is a colorful figure of the British music scene. For several years he combined playing guitar with professional MMA fights, which is not a comfortable situation for a guitarist. He could become a perfect advertisement for a tattoo studio as well.

Five years ago, Kris was rather unknown in mainland Europe and was climbing the first rungs of his career in his homeland. A lot has changed since then: Kris Barras Band have played sold-out shows all over the UK, released three albums (their latest album "Death Valley Paradise" jumped into the top 30 of the Official UK Album Charts), performed as a special guest on Beth Hart's UK tour, and were described by one journalist from the Planet Rock radio station as "the best live band in the UK. Kris himself has also been added to the lineup of Supersonic Blues Machine, a band with guest appearances from the likes of Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top, and Steve Lukather of Toto.

The Kris Barrand Band jumped into the lineup for this year's Rawa Blues almost at the last minute (along with American guitarist Chris Cain). - After Erik Gales canceled his European concerts, I immediately thought of Kris. I know he was thrilled after his first visit to the festival and wanted to come back here. It was so great that he just happened to have a free date - says Irek Dudek, the founder and director of Rawa Blues.
